This poem was a Mother's Day gift to my Mother-in-Law celebrating her role in my journey to motherhood.

He came into this world,
Ten perfect toes all furled,
He made you a mother.

You kissed his baby head,
And tucked him into bed,
A love like no other.

He grew in height and age,
With your love at every stage,
His own path to discover.

He met a girl and fell in love,
Divine design from above,
Never to be another.

Now he has his own son,
A whole new life has begun,
He made you a grandmother.

You kiss his tiny feet,
And shower him with treats,
A love like no other.

I would not have if not for you,
The priceless love of these two,
You made me a mother.
